Course Description:
This course provides a practical overview of the key compliance obligations that affect dental practices in Ontario. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the various statutes and regulations that govern the profession and learn how to use ODA’s extensive library of tools and resources to help meet these requirements with confidence.
Participants will be guided through the major legal and regulatory areas that impact dental practices in Ontario, including Occupational Health and Safety, Employment Standards, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC), and Privacy and Fraud Prevention. Staff from the ODA’s Professional and Government Affairs department will demonstrate how to apply the Association’s extensive library of compliance tools and resources to day-to-day practice operations.
Learning objectives:
- Identify and interpret the key regulatory and legislative requirements that apply to dental practices in Ontario.
• Assess, monitor, and strengthen their practice’s compliance systems.
• Apply ODA compliance resources to effectively address workplace safety, employment standards, IPAC, and privacy obligations.
• Build a proactive compliance culture that reduces risk and supports safe, ethical, and legally sound practice management.
